Basil The Cat – Not So Saintly

Filed under: Family — youngbridget @ 3:37 PM

Master is working from home today because our kids don’t have school. Around 12:30 he sent me the link to a set of pictures. Yes, we’ve owned this cat less than 48 hours. What have we signed up for I wonder?

P.S. Doesn’t Master’s butt look good in those jeans?

  1. Oh yes! His butt is quite fetching in that picture! I really enjoyed meeting him at SL and hanging out with him. He’s a lot of fun.

  2. If the cat can get up there, the cat can get down.

Easy for me to say, never having owned a cat.

Congratulations — hmm, maybe tentative congratulations would be more appropriate — maybe a card with congratulations on one side and commiseration on the other, to be used as appropriate — on the addition to your household.

I guess having only two living beings (when the kids aren’t there) in a poly household just didn’t feel right. And a cat (perhaps especially this cat) can cause enough turmoil to easily stand in for a person.

The boys were home from school all day and the cat wound up retreating to the roof? Perhaps this was not entirely coincidence? Did anyone dust the cat for fingerprints?

If nothing else, having the kids there left someone to take photos while your master was on the ladder.

  3. Friday was have fun with your cat day I guess. We had mischief to deal with too, except it ended with a vet visit for peace of mind.

  4. You are being played with. As the old story has it, when did you ever see the skeleton of a cat stuck in a tree?

  5. I think the main issue here was getting the cat back in the house rather than rescuing him, though apparently he did seem alarmed as well. In theory, this is supposed to be an indoor cat. Good theory, right?

  6. Re: indoor cat — I guess the cat did not get the memo. Or he GOT the memo, but figured, this is the doing of humans, and does not involve opening a can, therefore I shall disdain it.

Seriously, I’m glad to hear it’s an indoor cat; from everything I hear that’s the best way to go. Probably be a lot easier to bring that off the weeks the boys aren’t there.

  7. re: your Master’s rear view: Oh, yes, excellent!
re: cat. The cat has arrived, your former life is over. They own everything.
